Tai Chi

What is Tai Chi?

Tai Chi is a gentle, low-impact form of exercise that combines slow, flowing movements, deep breathing and mindful awareness to support both physical and mental wellbeing. Rooted in ancient Chinese martial arts and traditional Chinese philosophy, Tai Chi is often described as “meditation in motion” because it encourages calm, balance and focus while moving the body in a relaxed and controlled way. Today, Tai Chi is widely practised throughout the UK as a natural way to improve balance, flexibility, posture, coordination and joint mobility, while also helping to reduce stress and promote relaxation. Suitable for people of all ages and fitness levels, Tai Chi is especially beneficial for beginners, older adults and anyone looking for a safe, effective and enjoyable way to stay active. Whether you want to improve your health, increase your energy, support healthy ageing or simply find a peaceful form of movement, Tai Chi offers a holistic approach to exercise that nurtures both body and mind.
